KevinB: On iOS, there’s really NO way for Airfoil Speakers Touch to be conflicting with the Facebook app. You’ll want to talk to Apple and Facebook about that issue.

I love this App. Works great! I use it mostly with the airfoil video player. It would be great if there were control buttons like, play, pause, skip.

My iPhone3G is connected through Onkyo HD-S1 digital media transport(Wedia 170i clone)!
And it is running into timing problem with the new 1.1 airfoil speaker touch update;(
But I manage to restore back to 1.02 and is back to normal!
As there is no multitasking for old 3G, I will stick to 1.02 for now!

BTW, I like Airfoil, please keep up the good work!

I added this app and now my facebook app won’t run. Nothing I can do will fix it. Facebook app worked perfect just minutes before I added this.

Rob: Our icon doesn't appear because we don't support the background audio controls: see this post for more details. But you're right; when you start and then stop another app's audio while Airfoil Speakers Touch is in the foreground, we don't handle that sequence of events correctly. That's a bug, and we're looking into it. Thanks for the report.

Further: the WiFi connection appears to be disconnected by the iOS after a few minutes, probably because of the “background task completion” time limit. So the problem is limited. But I think you should do some more work on the app to implement it correctly.

Further to my previous post: It’s even worse! When you double click the home button while the app is in the foreground, then scroll left to the sound control panel, and then tap the play button, and tap the pause button to stop the sound, your app will continue to show receive sound but not play any. Then when you push the off button on top of the iPhone, the wifi connection will stay on without the user knowing (when you turn the iPhone on again it will show the screen of your app still streaming, but no sound is playing).

This will drain the battery!

Nice update. However, it appears that you have implemented background audio not completely right. When the app is streaming background audio, and you double click the home button and scroll left to the audio control panel, your app icon is not shown (instead the previous audio app is shown) and you cannot stop the app playing sound with the controls. You can only stop the sound by opening another sound app, such as the ipod app, so that it takes over the background sound api, and then stop it.
