Our upgrade philosophy



We don’t have a hard and fast upgrade policy, but our philosophy regarding paid upgrades is simple:

We try to do what's right for you and what's right for us.

When you purchase, you’re buying the product as it exists. Nevertheless, we improve our software regularly, and provide nearly all updates free of charge. Since our founding, we've provided over 1,000 complimentary updates across our lineup, bringing new features, bug fixes, and improvements.

Continual development requires significant time and resources. With that in mind, when substantial new functionality is added to a product, we may charge an upgrade fee for access to the new version. When such a fee is charged, we move a generous grace period of users who purchased recently to the latest version at no charge.

Finally, paid upgrades are always optional. Existing versions will continue to work on their supported operating systems, and we never force you to upgrade. In fact, we provide a full library of legacy downloads, ensuring you have permanent access to what you purchased.
