Rogue Amoeba Updates Audio Hijack Pro and More!
Princeton, NJ - Just over one month ago, Rogue Amoeba Software unveiled Audio Hijack Pro, the most advanced audio grabbing and enriching utility available. Now we've done it again, with an update to the already popular application. Key new features include:
- VBR and ABR MP3 Encoding
- Linein Recording option for recording the Live Input
- Split Recording
- Activity Log Window
- 16-bit Aiff Recording
- Aiff Mono Left and Aiff Mono Right Recording
- New File Naming Variables
- Revamped GUI
Along with these great new features, the reliability of the Timers has also been increased, compatibility with external audio cards has been improved, and several minor bugs have been fixed.
Audio Hijack Pro is an audio grabber and enricher, enabling users to record and save any audio. It can also be used to tweak and improve the quality of any application's audio, with included DSP effects, as well as industry-standard VST and AudioUnit plugins. MP3 recording, enhanced Timers, and the ability to hijack running applications are just the beginning. AH Pro also includes the ability to pause recordings, the power to create sets of DSP effects called Patches, support for up to 100 VST and/or AudioUnits plugins at a time, and more. AH Pro even supports some Classic VST plugins which haven't been updated for OS X!

Rogue Amoeba also recently opened their "Freebies" section, with two tiny freeware applications, LineIn and SoundSource. LineIn allows soft playthru from audio inputs, while SoundSource places a small menu in the menubar which allows the quick adjustment of the current audio devices.
