Due to a Mac App Store snafu, Piezo’s first official release was actually 1.0.1, rather than the more traditional 1.0.0.
This update was released on February 12, 2016 exclusively via direct download. Piezo 1.5 marked the product’s exit from the Mac App Store. Now unencumbered by App Store restrictions, Piezo gained the ability to capture audio from already-running applications.
Piezo’s interface has been very stable over the years. Changes are most notable in secondary windows, such as the License window and About box. This collection also shows Piezo’s “Quick Tour”, first introduced in version 1.6.1 (August 27, 2019). Piezo 1.7 shipped in December 2020, adding initial support for Apple’s new Apple Silicon-based Macs.
This update included the new Permissions window, to easily enable system permissions for the app.
