When we first released Audio Hijack back in 2002, it included an easter egg hidden in the About box. When found, it would play a short sound clip from This Is Spinal Tap.

Then in 2005, we noticed that two-thirds of Spinal Tap were using our audio recorder, Audio Hijack Pro. At the time, however, we were missing the famous Michael McKean.

More recently, the man also known as David St. Hubbins won the Jeopardy Celebrity Invitational, earning $1 million dollars for the International Myeloma Foundation.

On a whim, I checked our order database, thinking that perhaps his fellow bandmates may have told him about our software in the intervening years. Lo and behold, there he was! We don’t have any of the drummers, of course (it’s difficult to buy software from beyond the grave), but otherwise, we’ve got the whole band.

So, after 5 years, we can simplify our tagline:

“Audio Hijack Pro – Used by Spinal Tap!”
