Rogue Amoeba Unveils Pulsar - Satellite Radio Done Right!

Boston, MA - Rogue Amoeba is starting off the new year with new software, unveiling a Public Preview of their newest application Pulsar. Pulsar is a desktop client for listening to both XM Radio Online and SIRIUS Internet Radio, the internet streaming services provided by XM and SIRIUS satellite radio. With Pulsar, satellite radio subscribers can get their audio on the Mac with no hardware or web browser required! Best of all, for a limited time, many existing and future Rogue Amoeba customers are eligible to receive a license key for Pulsar completely free of charge!

The XM and SIRIUS satellite radio services both provide online access to many of their stations. Tuning in with a browser is clunky at best, however, and existing third party solutions leave something to be desired. With Pulsar and an XM or SIRIUS account, users can access great satellite content directly from their desktops! With a polished interface providing fast access to essential controls, Pulsar makes listening a pleasure, not a chore.

Better yet, Pulsar is designed to work well with both Airfoil and Audio Hijack Pro from Rogue Amoeba. For users looking to send their satellite radio around the house, to AirPort Express units, Apple TVs, or even other computers, Pulsar and Airfoil make a great team. Product Details

Pulsar requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher. The Pulsar Public Preview is immediately available for download, with a fully-functional free trial. While in trial mode, the quality of audio played by Pulsar will degrade after 20 minutes.

XM Radio Online and SIRIUS Internet Radio each require a subscription, for $7.99 and $12.99 a month respectively. Free three-day trials for either of these services are available, with more details available here.
