Boston, MA - Rogue Amoeba is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Airfoil Speakers Touch version 3. Airfoil Speakers Touch has long made it possible to send audio from a Mac or PC running Airfoil to iOS devices around the house. But what's new in this latest update?

Now, Airfoil Speakers Touch can turn any iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad into a fully compatible AirPlay receiver. That means it's now possible to stream from one iOS device to another, with almost no setup. Just launch Airfoil Speakers Touch on the device where you want to receive audio. It will immediately appear as an output in other iOS device's built-in AirPlay menu, so you can send audio from one device to another. As well, with Airfoil Speakers Touch running, iTunes can be used to stream audio directly to the iOS device, without needing Airfoil. Users don't need to purchase expensive third-party AirPlay devices when they can use the iOS devices they already own as remote speakers.

Airfoil Speakers Touch has also been fully updated for the iPad. No longer will users need to use the iPhone version in the Simulator, thanks to Airfoil Speakers Touch's full, native iPad interface. Better still, it's got full support for the Retina display on the new iPad 3, and it looks gorgeous.

Airfoil Speakers Touch turns any iOS device into a powerful wireless audio receiver. On its own, it will work with other iOS devices and directly with iTunes. When teamed up with Airfoil, synchronized audio can be sent to all manner of devices, including AirPort Express units, Apple TVs, Macs, PCs, Linux boxes, and iOS devices. Once installed and launched, Airfoil Speakers Touch shows up right in Airfoil for Mac or Airfoil for Windows, as well as all AirPlay-capable audio apps on iOS. With just a few clicks or taps, audio from applications like Spotify, Rdio and more, as well as web-based audio like Pandora and Last.fm, can be sent right to any iOS device.
